A: Like other applications such as Dreamweaver or Creative Suite, PDF Studio requires Java 6 in order to run. During the upgrade process to Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite or 10.11 El Capitan, Java may be uninstalled from your system. In order to reinstall and run PDF Studio you will need to install the Java 6 Runtime again. You may receive a dialog that will direct you to the site where you can download the Java 6 Runtime. Once installed you can proceed as normal with installing and using PDF Studio. You can follow the instructions below to complete the Java 6 installation.
Download Java Se 6 For Mac Yosemite
I know that asks java SE 6, but the oracle site led me to install this version java SE 8 compatible with Yosemite. Now all my applications work properly and do not see the request to update the screen.
That just takes you to this Oracle website where you can download the latest installer for either the Java 8 JRE (the runtime, for most users) or the Java 8 JDK (the Java development kit, for developers).
hi every time a plug in my mac a small window is on my screen whit the java install and press ok and gone but ifi restart my mac o every time plug in still there so how i can do to eraser this notification please help
I received this error while installing Eclipse on a fresh MacBook with macOS Sierra, version 10.12.3, which apparently does not have ANY java installed. I made the problem go away by installing java version 1.8 JDK and then had no trouble installing Eclipse after.
My Mac crashed and after the restart I had the same issue. Turned out that for some reason the file /usr/libexec/java_home was missing. After symlinking it to /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/Current/Commands/java_home, Eclipse now starts without any complains.
On the other hand, if you install the current Java SDK from Oracle, you can execute your Java application with java -jar YourApp.app/Contents/Resources/Java/yourapp.jar, but you get a generic dock icon, your menu items live on top of the window instead of menu bar.
And if you don't have Java 6 from Apple installed on the machine, which is not included in recent versions of the OS but still available for download from Apple at this location (but it's pretty out of date at this point), then you just get an error message dialogue: "To open YourApp.app you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime." with a link to Apple's outdated implementation, even though you already have Oracle's Java 8 installed already.
At the questions Run java bundled in .app from command-line and Why is Java SE 6 Legacy required to open Intellij?, it is suggested that you can force your Java .app bundle to use a newer version of Java if you change the JVMVersion in YourApp.app/Contents/Info.plist, but this did not work for me. Those answers are from Java 1.7 era, maybe it's outdated?
From replies to a question I asked on Apple's java-dev list it would appear that on a Mac with Java 8 from Oracle installed, but not Java 6 from Apple, there is no current way to open a Java application bundle that was created using Apple's own old jar bundler technology. I suspect this is because the JavaApplicationStub is written to expect some aspect of Apple's Java not present in Oracle's Java.
Someone else has reported this problem to the official Photoshop Feedback site where it is being discussed with an Adobe engineer. If you want to add to your comments to that topic, go here: _family/topics/cannot-choose-custom-paper-size-with-yosemite-10-10-and-ps-cs5
Hi Ben, as I wrote in the article above, Photoshop CS2 was coded for Macs running PowerPC processors and the last version of OS X to run PowerPC code was OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. No version of Photoshop CS2 runs on Intel processors. The Photoshop update coded for Intel CPUs was Photoshop CS3 (2007), which was a paid upgrade and is no longer available for sale new. To run Photoshop on OS X 10.10 Yosemite, your options are:A) Find a used copy of Photoshop CS3 or later.B) Buy a new download of Photoshop CS6 from Adobe.C) Subscribe to one of the Adobe Creative Cloud plans that includes Photoshop CC, including the Photography program ($9.99 a month on annual plan, includes Lightroom).D) Stay with Photoshop CS2, which requires rolling back your Mac to OS X 10.6 or earlier.
If you have an older version of adobe creative suite i believe cs5 or older and you upgrade your operating system to yosemite (or even maverick) you will not be able to open any of the programs or files. The operating system is not compatible with the older version of the adobe product.
Yes, it worked. -suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html let me download the entire suite and install it without the need to change disks. Seems to work fine, will check it out properly soon.(I have just purchased a new laptop with 10.10.4, the old one was 10.6.)
In this step, we will test whether Java is already installed or not. To do so, open the terminal and type java -version as shown in Fig 1. If Java is already installed on the system, it will show the active version details as shown in Fig 1.
Double click the DMG file downloaded in the previous step to start installing Oracle JDK 17 on Mac. It will mount the DMG disk and shows the installer as shown in Fig 4. Make sure that you have gone through the updated License Agreement of Oracle JDK.

Users can download Canu as source code or as pre-compiled binaries. The binary distribution is the recommended install method, assuming it is available for your platform. The source code package needs to be compiled and installed before it can be used.

UPDATE: After removing Java 1.6 from my machine, the next time I ran PhpStorm, it told me it needed to download and install the Java SE 6 runtime. Afterward, the /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK link was reset to /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents. So it seems that the 1.6 JDK (or at least the JRE portion of it) may keep coming back, depending on other apps you use. 2ff7e9595c
